This week, ThermalCraft partners gathered at the Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA) Conference in Las Vegas, our first time attending together since launching our Nashville location.
From left to right: Steven Hansen, Dennis Pack, Evan Dahl, and Gavin Lowery. Not pictured, but certainly missed, is Dean Soll, whose leadership and experience continue to shape who we are.
Each of us took a different path to get here:
Steven Hansen and I spent almost a decade as competitors, often bidding against each other across the West Coast (and more often than I’d like to admit, losing to him). I knew him as an honest guy, and a fierce competitor. It was always a blast catching up with him at CEBA, just not as fun competing against him. It’s a privilege to now build alongside him.
Evan Dahl and I first worked together at SubZero Constructors, where he quickly proved himself as an exceptional Project Manager. We spent years helping design and build some of the biggest and most complex cold storage and food processing facilities across the country. He became a true partner in the trenches, and I’m proud to have him as a partner here at ThermalCraft.
Gavin Lowery and I go back to our early days at All Weather Insulated Panels, where his father, Bill Lowery, first introduced me to the insulated metal panel industry. We reconnected at SubZero when Gavin came on board as a talented Project Manager. His work ethic, drive, and focus were, and still are, unmatched (I’ve tried, not happening). Together we took turns happily self-inflicting pain by taking on projects others called impossible. ThermalCraft is fortunate to have him as a partner.
Dean Soll, founder of SubZero Constructors, TrueCore Panels, and now ThermalCraft, is who gave me my start in the controlled environment building industry. His mentorship, vision, and leadership have shaped how I approach this business and what ThermalCraft stands for today. Dean’s drive for excellence and his client-first, people-centered culture continue to define who we are.
ThermalCraft was built on decades of shared experience, professionals who’ve crossed paths, learned together, and now operate with one standard: top-shelf quality, disciplined execution, and consistency across every job.
We’re proud to have spent the weekend reconnecting with clients, partners, and peers who continue to move this industry forward.
And yes, we might have won a little at roulette, lost it all on blackjack… but as a wise man who now owns a bunny once told me, “90% of gamblers quit right before winning big.”
Grateful to be building this future together.
